As you know that the name is something that gives you your identity among the millions of people in the world. Therefore, everyone wants to choose unique and meaningful name for his/her children. So, it is quite difficult and tricky to choose a sole and distinct name for a baby. Mainly people are likely to choose such name that are short, meaningful and have good pronunciation. In this procedure, they experience both joy as well as frustration. Hence, in order to choose the best name for your baby, here are some tips:
• Never choose name in hurry: For unique name start looking early. Take suggestions from your friends, relatives, colleagues and others. Prepare the list of all the names and then choose the good one.
• Think about your child liking also: Before choosing the name, think for a while whether you child would like it or not when he/she grow up. Actually, kids feel awful in school if they have such name that can pronounce like a rhyme for example Harry can turn into ‘hairy Harry’. If you are going with cute baby name then remember it is workable for your baby in childhood but what happen when he/she grow up with childish name.
• Ask yourself: First sound your baby name aloud and think about its melody. Then also add your surname with it and see is it rhythmic or not? Mainly short name sound good with long surname and vice versa. However, avoid any name that would create insulting nicknames, when someone shortens them.
• Also watch out for the initials: 3-4 letter initial names can spell in some bad words like A.S.S, P.I.G, F.A.T, S.O.B, R.I.P etc so, avoid such names.
• Bad names of Celebrity: Many people would like to name their children after their favorite celebrity. So, if you are also in same phase, then cling to your unassailable faith that celebrities would not do something in order to embarrass their name.
• Give importance to middle name too: Also consider the rhythm of name with and without middle name.
• Unisex Names: Some name can go with both male and female child like Brett, Corey, Shakthi, Shimmi etc. Hence, do not avoid if you like them and they are adjusting in your criteria.
• Try to select meaningful name: Most of the parents forget to consider meaning of the name, if name sound good and pleasant. However, meaning is very important because it can make your child a laughing symbol in the school, if his/her name has funny meaning.
