One of the most important steps is to make sure that you have a clean face before the razor touches your skin. Make sure that you exfoliate first. Either that or use a hot towel that is wet on your face. You need for the pores to be open. Another must to use a pre-shave oil to soften those hairs. Choose one that is all natural. There are special oils that are made for electric razors as well.
You then have to add lather to your face. The oil alone is not going to cut it. The choice between a cream and foam is completely your preference. Always remember to massage into your face for at least a minute. If you prefer soap, it gets applied with the brush. Although this is not a bad choice, the soap can tend to dry out your skin. Gels are another option buy they do tend to clog pores.
As for your brush, a badger hair brush is the only choice for the perfect shave. You actually get two for the price of one since this magic little brush will exfoliate at the same time you apply the lather.
If you use an electric razor, it is all a matter of preference on whether you use a rotary shaver or a foil shaver. Each will give a different type of shave but again, it is all in what you prefer.
As for reusable razors, you want to keep away from disposables. These do not last and do not give a great shave. For the closest shave you can get stick with a two to four blade razor. Don’t forget to use a balm or gel after you shave. This will leave your face baby smooth. Stay away from products that are heavy with alcohol as they tend to dry out your skin.
