The other option you are having is that select a tie having the stripes in the opposite direction of your shirt.
Ties for checkered shirts: For the checkered shirts you have to apply the same rule of the striped shirts because if you use the tie of same pattern of the shirt then the tie‘s pattern will collide with the shirt’s pattern. For the checkered shirts you can also use the dotted ties. It is your duty to select the tie which should match your shirt.
