We all know that you are what you eat but where does your smell fit in? Shopping for cologne can be a real chore for some men. You want to have the right scent to impress a girl on the first date or maybe you have that special business meeting to get that promotion, you don’t want to smell like a foot locker for that one.
There are more than 3000 different ingredients that go into making you smell your best no matter what the occasion. Musk, which at one time was one of the most common used ingredients in cologne, was very expensive. Nowadays, you find more spices, fruits and flowers. Not feminine believe me.
Every man’s scent and skin is different so therefore your cologne should be as original as you. Be sure to test and smell before you buy. Your metabolism can affect the scent as well as if you are on any medications or if you are sick at the time.
There are a few “unisex” colognes that are on the market but you probably want to stick with the ones that are made just for men or just for women. When checking out the different colognes at a department store, it is not an issue if you wander over to the other side of the counter so to speak but, when shopping for yourself, be sure to stay away from scents such as lavender or baby powder.
If you are looking for a woodsy scent, go with Dune. This is a popular scent from Christian Dior. The right scent can impress your lady or even give you a relaxed feeling. It is said that aromatherapy is one of the best medicines that you can try.
Remember, it is very important to keep in mind that we are all different. Choosing your cologne should be the same as choosing a fine wine. There is nothing like putting on that new suit for your dinner date or the hot new duds that you have been dying to wear to the club and then splashing on the cologne that tops off the entire outfit.
