Genetics is getting even more attention now a days as in the early time. It is an answer to all the tricks of life. Whether you are dark in color, over weight, pretty, healthy, chances are that these thighs might be passed on to you.
Personality: – some kids have the personality of their parents. This is because some behavioral traits are passed down through the genes. An obvious example is mental illness. Studies have shown that our day to day personality is a result of chemicals in our brains, which might be passed down to you by your parents.
Addiction: – studied have also shown that addictions are also influenced by genetics. In detail, genes affect us the way dopamine affects us. Dopamine plays a vital part in certain addictions, and they make the brain feel good. Affection of drugs, however, is because of few measly genes.
Aggression: – estrogen and testosterone are hormones which create aggression. They are much higher in the males as compared to their counterparts. It is a fact that males are more aggressive than females. Genetics can make certain individuals more inclined to aggression. .
Intelligence: – according to some studies, twins are the most perfect example of inherited intelligence. About 70% of the twins, even though raised in different conditions, have the same intelligence as their siblings. There are 60% chances of inheriting your parents intelligence.
Diseases: – certain diseases are also the result of genetic inheritance. For some disease, for one to inherit, both the parents must have it. For example, both the parents must have blond hair for the child to inherit it. This is called autosomal recessive pattern. Some diseases inherited through autosomal recessive inheritances are kidney diseases, sickle cell anemia, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis etc. there are also some diseases which can be passed on by one parent only, but the chances are 50/50.
Obesity: – there is a chance of 75% of inheriting the mother’s weight condition. You will have 75% chance of being overweight if your mother is obese.
The knowledge of inheritance and its affect can help you save your life one day. It is not there to scare you.
