Taking Care of Gerbera Daisies

Flowers are the Essen of any garden which cannot exist without them. Gerbera Daisies are pretty, good looking flowers for your gardens and are appealing to create a visual delight. These flowers are known for their bright and vibrant shades, which are enough for bringing a smile on the face.
For flower arrangements, these large daisies are one among the widely used flowers. They are also given preference for a romantic gift. The most planted varieties with different shades are bright yellows, lovely pinks, gorgeous reds and pristine whites.
How to grow
Well-drained soil is the first requirement for Gerbera Daisies. Do not allow the soil to remain wet for a long time with the habit of early watering in the morning; for the rest of the day keep away from water. Gerbera Daisies will need partial to full sunlight; so if planted in a pot you should place it by the sunny window side.
Frost plays a role and therefore the seeds should be planted around 10 weeks before the last frost. The seed should be pointed downwards while planting. During the frost, you can plant them indoors, and with the little warm weather, they can be moved to the places in the outdoors. During outdoor growing Gerbera Daisies will require sufficient amounts of water with regular fertilization. If the climate becomes too warm they can lose their charm.
You would like to plant Gerbera Daisies, especially after someone has gifted you them. You will realize how easy is to look after these plants. For this, first choose a clean vase for them with adding of cool water to the vase. Then, trim the long stem according to the height of the vase.
Now, pay attention to cut under water as well as at an angel of 45 degrees. Keep changing the water everyday and cut the stems again. A teaspoon of sugar added to the water is recommended for its long and better life. The vase should be kept at the cooler side of the room with avoiding of direct sunlight. Lots of heat and winds both should be avoided.
