What is multiple sclerosis or MS and its cause?
Multiple sclerosis is a disease that attacks the brain and nervous system of the body, causing trouble with vision, muscle control and strength, balance, feeling things and thinking. The cause of multiple sclerosis is unknown, but according to past and recent studies on multiple sclerosis, one’s environment and lifestyle determines whether they are at risk for multiple sclerosis or not.
What are the early symptoms of multiple sclerosis?
The symptoms of multiple sclerosis varies from person to person, which relies on how much and which parts of the brain are damaged. The scarring and the loss of myelin, a coating that surrounds damaged tissues of the nervous system, can have an effect on any or all parts of the nervous system.
A multiple sclerosis symptom occurs at various times and days, with one mild attack on one day and a more severe attack on the next day. Some of the symptoms of this disease are a loss of body temperature, after an infection has occurred. For the other early symptoms, such as tremors, pain and having trouble thinking, may or may not be related to multiple sclerosis and can be mistaken of another illness and you should see a doctor about the symptoms to find out whether you do have multiple sclerosis or another illness and get the treatment needed.
There are other early symptoms of multiple sclerosis that needed to be paid attention to. These signs are the following: having issues with muscle or motor controls, such as leg dragging, stiffness, and general weakness of the body, a habit to allowing things to drop, feelings of clumsiness, heaviness or a lack of balance.
This disease also affects the visual senses, such as having hay, blurred or foggy vision, having blindness, double vision and/or pains in the eyeballs. This disease also affects the balances of its victims, such as a person experiencing a feeling of dizziness, lightheadedness and/or vertigo, a spinning feeling inside the head.
This disease also effects the bladder, with symptoms such as a person having trouble with emptying their bladder or holding their urine, a loss of having a bladder sensation, when the bladder is about to get full and a sudden urge to release urine.
In the advanced stages of the disease, the symptoms becomes more severe and generally include: increased muscle pain and lack of coordination, uncontrollable shaking and stiff movements, constipation of the bowel movements, memory loss, difficulty with concentrating, chronic fatigue and erectile dysfunction.
