What is genital herpes and what is caused by?
Genital herpes is one of the most apparent sexually-induced diseases in the world and the disease is caused by a number of factors, such as a person having too many partners for sexual pleasure, those who have sex without using a condom, those who have sexual relations with a partner, that is high-risk for the disease, those whose immune systems are inadequate and women are more likely to get the disease than men.
What are the signs and symptoms of a person having genital herpes?
The signs and symptoms of genitals herpes differ from person to person and some of those with herpes never experience any symptoms or the symptoms maybe too mild for the infected person to notice them.
For those who do have symptoms, they can range from painful and itchy blisters around the genitals of both male and females, which the blisters burst and become oozing sores, which would take around three weeks to heal to the infected person suffering from headaches, fevers and muscle aches. For those who have genital herpes, it will take around two to fourteen days for them to have an outbreak of the disease.
How is genital herpes diagnosed and treated?
A person can find out whether they have genital herpes or not, by getting a physical exam and/or blood test to see if they do have the disease, then the treatment or treatments for the disease can be from taking medication to reliving the pain that comes with herpes and to reduce the risk for future outbreaks of the disease.
One can also seek counseling on safe sex to help cope with having herpes and to get advice on how to prevent future outbreaks. No known cure of herpes is available, so the only thing a person with herpes can do is to practice safe sex and/or stay away from sex and if that person does have sexual relations with another person, they should be more careful in the future. It is always better to be safe than sorry, so please be careful on who you have sex with, for you might get a not-so-nice surprise growing on your private parts.
