Summer feet care

One of beauty expert’s strongest recommendations is to always measure your feet whenever you buy sandals or shoes of any kind. Pay special attention to the part of the shoe called the ‘toe box,’ making sure it’s round enough and wide enough not to squeeze your toes. Narrow, pointed styles, she says, can irritate bony deformities and worsen such problems as bunions or hammertoes. A round toe box, like those found in some European brands, can be an asset in controlling pain, according to the experts.Summer feet care also includes trimming your toenails straight across every 3-4 weeks. They will trim easier after a shower or bath. Use a good cream on your feet too. I’ve been using a mint cream that’s been helping. Eucerin makes a thick cream that works well at night when they are extremely dry. Wear a pair of clean cotton socks afterwards to really do the job. Don’t put the cream between your toes. This can cause a moisture build up and fungus can develop in those areas.
Summer feet care tips
Scrub your feet regularly with pumice stone. This will help you get rid of the dead skin and avoid calluses and corns. This is important in summer feet care
Wear comfortable and well-fitted shoes in order to avoid blisters, calluses, corns and all the other problems that occur as a result of poor fitted shoes.
Another Summer feet care is foot powders help to soak up excessive moisture that can breed fungi and bacteria. Plus, a lightly scented powder makes your feet feel refreshed. There are a variety of foot powders on the market, both scented and unscented as well as foot powders with antibacterial and antifungal properties. If you’re in a bind, you can use cornstarch to keep your feet dry and moisture free. You probably have some right now in your kitchen cabinet!
If you have a problem of corns and calluses, its better to visit a podiatrist early on and get them removed.
Summer feet care is wearing poor fitted shoes may also weaken foot muscles. Wearing sandals uses more of your foot muscles and strengthens them. Purchase shoes that are specifically designed for this problem.
Persons with diabetes need to be especially careful in the summer, says Anderson. Because of a common condition called peripheral neuropathy, or numbness in their feet, they might not notice a cut or fissure in the skin caused by stepping on a thorn, piece of glass, splinter or other foreign body.
Summer feet care recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Dead Sea mineral salts
hot water
5 drops each juniper berry, grapefruit and bitter orange essential oils
1/2 cup sea salt
Stir the salts and oils into a tub or basin of hot water and soak your feet for 10-15 minutes. Dry feet and apply lotion. Notes: You can also skip the salts if you don’t have them and add 5 drops of juniper, 3 rosemary and 2 drops lavender essential oil to give your feet a treat!
Lastly, one more caution for diabetics. Call your doctor at the first sign of redness, soreness or anything that could possibly be an infection. Things can progress very quickly and you don’t want to take a chance. Be gentle with your feet and take care of them!
As Summer feet care, when you get to your feet, coat the brush with soap and scrub all surfaces of your feet, then use the scratchy side and saw away at any rough spots. Rinse well, including your tools, and dry. Then rub in some cream or lotion. You do not need a fancy foot cream for this. Just find something you like to use. In less than three minutes of daily attention, both feet will be smooth and summer ready.
