Stress The Everyday Illness
Everyone gets stressed once in a while. Whether you had a bad day at work or even a fight with your spouse we all experience stress in different ways and on different levels.
There are different types of stress that affect your body in different ways. A good stress is when it helps prevent you from getting hurt. Examples of that would be keeping you from falling down the steps or driving around someone walking across the street. These are not a bad form of stress.
When you have stress that is caused by emotional and physical issues that is where the problems really lies. This will start to affect your health in a lot of negative ways.
Your doctor may get concerned if your sleeping habits start to change and you are not getting a good nights rest. If you find yourself getting anxious, irritable or even nervous over little things, these can be signs that you are over stressed.
Other things to watch for are weight gain, not being able to concentrate, or even finding that you are getting sick more often. Stress can weaken your immune system and prevent you from fighting off the smallest colds. Not to mention other serious health risks.
Your job can play a major role in your stress as well. If you have a high pressure job such as in the government or health industry, your stress level can go through the roof. That’s not to say that your average job cannot cause too much stress.
It is important to take a break once in a while to let your body and your mind regroup so to speak. If you don’t give your mind the proper rest then your body will start to fall apart with symptoms such as hair loss, lack of sleep and infections.
See your doctor if you feel that your stress level is out of control. He or she will be able to prescribe something that can put your mind and your body to rest. So just try to go with the flow and let the bad roll away from you.
