June 3, 2008
Achieving radiant skin is not an easy task. Of course, you should first make sure that you are properly taking care of your skin through daily health practices. Basic steps toward taking better care of your skin include getting enough sleep, eating nutritious foods, drinking lots of water, and exercising regularly. But some people who do everything right still end up with lackluster skin, and if you are one of those people, use good tips to achieve radiant skin today such as get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night as lack of sleep will show up under your eyes as dark circles or bags. Proper rest will also benefit your body and your life.
Exfoliate. When you exfoliate you are sloughing off dead skin cells that make your complexion look dull. At the same time, you are making way for the fresher skin cells underneath to shine through. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to keep your skin hydrated and it is best to spread the consumption of water in small amounts over the course of the day to be sure it is properly absorbed. Practice good habits as poor diet, smoking and too much sun show up on the skin by making even young skin looked aged. Diets high in Omega-3 oils mean healthy skin and hair. Excessive use of cosmetics could have an adverse effect on your skin and health and people remain unaware that most of the cosmetics contain dangerous chemicals like parabens, therefore paving way for cancer. If not cancer, these chemicals could cause serious allergies and hence, it is better to minimize the excessive use of cosmetics.
A good source of Omega-3s is oily fish like tuna or salmon. Take antioxidants to fight damage from the environment, and make sunscreen part of your daily care. Look for moisturizers and foundations that include sunscreen. Moisturize your skin regularly, particularly before going to bed. Choose moisturizer with alpha-hydroxy acids or try a couple of drops of olive oil at night to moisturize skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Chocolate, candies, French fries and Pizzas! As delicious as they are, these food items are deemed to be the enemies of your skin as they can cause blemishes and make your skin oily. It is hard to digest the fact, but reduce the intake of these delicacies for the betterment of your skin, another thing to get radiant skin is using Glycolic acid, an ingredient used in some skin care products, is also used in facial peels and is well known for its excellent exfoliating qualities.
As glycolic acid can work wonders, there is definitely a danger in too much of a good thing and therefore, restrict yourself to getting one glycolic acid facial peel done a month to avoid damaging or irritating your skin. To maintain the glowing effect of a glycolic facial, take extra time to do a thorough job during your daily cleansing and exfoliating regimens.
