What does one do when tired and stressed out?  It’s time to relax, but what is the best way to unwind and refresh your self?  Have you ever thought of going to a spa and getting yourself massaged from head to toe?  Lovely thought, lovely feeling but, it a little rest and relaxation at a spa can prove to be a costly affair, making a big dent in your pocket.  But, the good news is that you can have all the beauty perks without spending a fortune… right there right now, in the easy comfort of your home.

From feel good facials, manicures, pedicures, to soothing foot massages, the following simple spa secrets won’t leave your wallet lighter.  Go ahead and open your refrigerator for basic ingredients that are right at your fingertips.

Easy as pie…
Add ¼ cup granulated sugar and two tablespoons of almond oil to a basin of warm water to invigorate and soften feet.  Give your feet a gentle massage and slip into a pair of soft, cotton socks.

No old wives tale, thin cucumber slices used as compresses over closed eyes do really relieve sore and puffy eyes.

Use beta carotene rich watermelon to combat cell damage by putting mashed melon on your face.  Rinse clean after 15 minutes.

Lift the skin that forms on the surface of boiled milk that has been cooled and apply it your face till dry.  Scrub off gently with a vegetable brush or coarse washcloth.  It not only moisturises your skin but softens it, as well.

There is nothing that is done at a spa that you can’t do at home.  Only thing is that you will feel luxuriously pampered at a spa, while at home it’s a do-it-yourself.  So, why not invite some girlfriends over and massage and pamper each other as you exchange gossip and secrets.  A fun, all girls night out!
