Skin Cleansing
Skin cleansing is one of the most important aspects of skin care. Use a cleansing cream that goes deep into the skin pores’ and cleans’ thoroughly, thus helping to develop clean skin. Skin cleansing is an integral part to skin treatment for tackling chemical sensitivity, exposure to pesticide and chemicals as well as chronic fatigue.
Choosing a skin cleanser that suits the skin is very essential, for example a high powered formula is good for oily skin, while mild formulas are suitable for drier complexions. Liquid/cream skin cleansers come with a consistency ranging from moderate to thin to thick.
Tips for Skin Cleansing
Always drink 8-12 glasses of water per day to keep the skin healthy. Use complexion bars that are actually mild cleansers in bar form. Also following a proper skin cleansing routine is necessary.
Skin cleansing becomes even more important during summer, as sebum production increases during the summer that makes the skin look oily as such needs to be cleaned. Generally, most women opt for cleansing the skin more during summer, than during other times of the year.
However, it is better not to spend money on skin cleansers that are expensive. Instead women should spend more on moisturizers, intensive treatments, and sunscreens to protect the skin during summer.
Homemade Skin Cleansers
Rose Water Skin Cleansers
The rose water skin cleaner can be prepared at home using a variety of items available at home. Ingredients required include beeswax/white paraffin wax -1 tblsp; mineral oil – 4 tblsp; rose water – 6 tblsp, borax – 1 tsp; emulsifying wax – 1 tblsp and a little rose perfume.
Preparation
Heat the water and borax together alongside melting the wax and oil, but make sure the borax is completely dissolved. Pour the water into the oil and stir it until a white cream is formed. Put the rose perfume in just before the mixture starts to cool and make it thick.
Herbal Skin Cleansing Cream
The herbal skin cleaner can be prepared at home using items available at home. Ingredients required include toners, beeswax, water, strainers, vegetable or fruit oils – 3 to 4 oz., water, herbs – 1 oz and flowers, and lanolin – 1 oz.
Preparation
Crush herb leaves in water and boil it slowly for about 3 minutes. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool. Strain the flowers and leaves and store the herb water in the refrigerator for nearly 1 to 2 hours. Follow this by melting 1 oz. of lanolin and beeswax together and follow this by slowly stirring it in 3 to 4 oz. of oil preferably vegetable oil/fruit oil such as almond oil or soybean oil.
Remove the mixture from the heat and mix the cooled herb water in with a whisk. Apply the mix after it becomes a paste onto the face and wash it off with water. For women with oily skin, it is better for them to use an astringent/soap to wash off the mix/paste.
