We all know that the bride is going to buy her dress for the big day. She may even hand it down to her daughter when she gets married. But, should the groom actually buy the tux for his wedding? That is a very important question that many men ask themselves for that all important day.
There really is no simple answer to this question. If you are the type to go out often to a black tie affair then purchasing the tux could be in your best interest. They can be a little pricey and if you are going to wear it more than once, it could be a great investment. But, if you find that the opportunity to wear it ever again is going to escape you, renting would probably be the better choice for you.
Regardless of the choice that you choose to make, be sure to go to a store that takes pride in their tuxedos. You will need to have it fitted so that you look absolutely perfect for that special occasion. If you were to purchase one, you would be able to take it in and have any necessary changes to the alterations. Be sure to purchase the classic style so that it will never go out of style.
Make sure that you are comfortable in the tux. Your chest and shoulders should have room to breathe and the sleeves should end at your wrists. Don’t forget to make sure that the pants are a perfect fit as well.
Pick the accessories that match your tux. The shoes and socks should be color matched. Your tie, whether it is a necktie or a bowtie, and the cravats, should bring out your vest. If you want to look a little more in style, some cufflinks will do the trick.
So whether you purchase or rent, the choice is yours. Make the investment count if you buy and choose a proper tux rental if you don’t. Either way, look and feel great for your big day.
