shorttermdietingThere are a lot of different dieting schemes out there, especially on the internet. You may have seen some of these systems being advertised. They may even seem like a good idea.

However, this is not often the case. Usually they end up being a little bit crazy and very harmful to your body. They don’t help you to get fit, they just make you feel hungry.

You don’t need to starve yourself to lose weight! This is great news, right? You may think that it’s still worth trying these “crash diets”. Many of them only take a week or two, so how could they be harmful, right? Wrong! I am going to explain exactly why you need to stay away from these so called “miracle cures” for weight loss and quick fix diets.

Firstly, you must realize that most of these dieting schemes can do long term damage to your body. For example, starvation diets: they make you eat less and you might even be taking some kind of crazy supplement.

If you starve your body, it will put your metabolism into overdrive. Your body will grab onto every last bit of fat that it can get, effectively increasing your fat cell count. Starving your self to get fatter? No thanks! Avoid these schemes at all costs.

If you try out these kinds of quick fix diets, you are not learning any lessons of life. You are training yourself that the only path to success is through pain and degradation.

Even if one of these diets does actually work for you, you will not have put in the effort to get there. You will never appreciate your new look and will most likely fall back into old habits.

You will not have learned a thing. Worse still, once you have failed enough times and put yourself through painful diets, you are never want to try again. If you train your brain to expect pain in a diet, your brain is going to do everything in its power to avoid dieting. This will spill over to proper diet.

Quick fix diets do not last. They rarely help you to reach your goals. It takes a change in lifestyle to get a change in your physical appearance.
