The Shag Haircut is generally short, layered, with more layers at the crown of the head than below. Bangs are optional and can be pushed off the face with the use of the right styling substances.

The ears are not cut out; the shag-adorned should be able to tuck the hair behind the ear, or, even better, pull it back with dime-store barrettes in garish plasticky colors. Shag hairstyles are flippy and youthful, but not childish. Although the few standard features hold, many modifications can be made to suit the wearer, like fewer layers on the bottom or a longer length overall.

In case, if you have medium hair, you can opt for this sassy haircut though this does not work very well for too curly or frizzy hair, it can be still applied to suit your requirements.

For medium hair, there are levels both in the front as well as the back. The ends can be both uneven and tapered or uniformly covering the face, depending upon the look you want to wear.

Shag is unisex, but better displayed by a woman with a knowing look, the look of the cat that swallowed the canary or the Cheshire cat. Walk softly, but carry a big hairbrush and don’t speak often. You will be seen from afar, and the second glances at any outdoor event will issue forth like firecrackers. If you are different and wanna try different, for a messy yet sexy look, those with straight hair can get their hair slightly waved and leave people entangled in charisma. The greatest advantage of this haircut is that it even looks good if the hair length is overgrown.
