Sex and the City premieres in London

The “Sex and the City” stars lit up London’s Leicester Square for the world premiere of the cinematic sequel to their New York adventures, delighting fans with glamorous — and sometimes quirky — outfits that helped make the show an international hit.
To screams of “we love Carrie”, Sarah Jessica Parker, wearing a hat that seemed like it was collected from Flowers R Us on the way to the cinema, signed autographs in an hour-long walkabout with fellow cast members Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.
For the down-to-earth actresses, walking back into the spotlight was a fun and familiar chance to showcase the incredible “Sex and the City” clothes.
The stars were greeted by hordes of screaming fans in London’s Leicester Square where Sarah Jessica Parker said “This is a movie for all genders, gays, straights and everybody in-between.”
“Men are not vilified. It’s a movie for everyone,” she told Sky News.
Asked about the popularity of Sex And The City, Nixon said: “People love the wit of the show, the style of the show. They love the sex and the humour and they’ve really missed us.”
“We’re having a kind of smallish premiere here (and) we’re having a smallish premiere in Berlin. We’re building to the New York premiere which is enormous and happens just before the film opens worldwide,” Parker said.
The film opens May 30 in the United States.
