Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin is not just from the elements of the season. It comes from many other things, such as allergic reactions, temperature changes, chemicals and perfumes. When having a reaction to something when your skin is sensitive, it can cause redness, swelling and become itchy and dry.
If you feel your skin getting tight or even tingly or maybe strange after you have put on your makeup, these are signs of skin sensitivity. You could have a reaction to waxing, extreme temperature changes and even medications. Allergies can also be a great cause when you have sensitive skin to breakouts, swelling and itchiness.
There are many things that you can do to help your skin if it is super sensitive. When washing your face, make sure that the water is warm temperature or tepid. Hot water is bad for your skin in the first place. When using creams on your face, make sure that they are for sensitive skin use without perfumes.
You want to avoid exfoliating because that will take away the protective level of skin. Be sure to make sure that your makeup products; sunscreen and moisturizer are specially made for sensitive skin. Also, when washing away the day from your skin, be sure to use a mild cleanser and stay away from the soap since it dries out the skin.
Another thing that you can do to help reduce the stress of your skin is to be mindful of extreme temperature changes. Dress appropriately when going outside in the cold and be sure to moisturize no matter what the time of year. Try to reduce your stress as much as possible. Stress is not only bad for your body but also for your skin.
When using makeup, be sure that it is an oil free product. Bubble baths and bath oils can also be bad for your skin. Oils clog up your skin and can cause rashes and breakouts. Also, try to keep your alcohol consumption to a minimum as it can cause stress to the skin.
