Sagging Breasts – What you can do to prevent them
June 12, 2008
If you ask any woman what is one area on their bodies that they hate about aging – it would most likely be the dreaded scenario of sagging breasts. For a lot of women, they see this as the number one sign of aging on their bodies, and it takes them out of their younger age and feeling beautiful, into their middle age and older years, feeling very unattractive.
While aging and gravity are natural occurrences in life, there are things that can be done to prevent the problem. A lot of women suffer from sagging breasts due to the breakdown and loss of elasticity that happens both after childbirth and the aging process. Part of the problem too can be lack of muscle in the pectoral and chest areas that does not help support the breast tissue, as we get older.
The best remedy for lack of muscle when you get older is to work on building it when you are young. The more in shape and taut our muscles are early on in life, the more likely it will be they we do not age as fast and show the signs of aging as fast as those who do not build muscle and do strength training. A lot of women are afraid of strength training because they are under the mistaken belief that it will make them man like or bulky. This is not true at all, and in fact couldn’t be farther from the real benefits of strength training for women.
Women’s bodies are built differently, and do not normally house the right amount of hormones and chemical make up that allow their muscles to get bulky and huge, unless they are specifically training for that purpose. Doing some simple upper body exercises and cardio are two of the best ways to prevent breast sagging, as we get older.
If you are at the age where you still have time to prevent breast sagging from occurring, you need to act on it and do what you can. There is very little short of surgery that can be done once the problem exists. Make sure to keep your weight at a healthy level and exercise on a regular basis. There are creams on the market that overtime can help firm up trouble areas on our bodies, but keep in mind that these can not and do not work miracles, it takes work and dedication to being healthy and taking time to exercise that will help prevent breast sagging from being a part of your aging process.
