Safe and sound

The major concern for a mother is about the well being of her child. All mothers want their children to be safe and sound. There are many diseases which can take the life of a child. Every year many babies die due to some or the other reason.
A disease called bronchiolitis is a very bad cough that can kill a child. Fast heart beat, high temperature, frequent sneezing and poor feeding can also be the symptoms. The things can be improved, if the symptoms for the same are noticed in the initial stages. It is always advisable to go to the doctor at once, as soon as you notice anything unusual in a child.
Mothers are quite fearful of cot death and meningitis. Though the chances of the child being affected by them are quite low, yet they pose a cause of worry for the mothers.
Cot death occurs without having any major symptoms. A child can die unexpectedly. Therefore it is very essential to watch each and every movement of your child. If the child is feeling too hot or too cold, or is going pale day by day and has started developing rashes, just go to the doctor immediately before anything unexpected happens. The major cause of cot death is considered suffocation. So ensure that your child has no such problem and can breathe freely.
Meningitis is also a disease of major concern. It infects the membranes covering the brain and the spinal cord. It is a serious and fatal illness causing severe headaches, vomiting, and fever. It is an infection that inflames the meninges. Just consult the doctor immediately, in case you notice any of the symptoms. There are two types of meningitis, viz meningitis B and meningitis C. A child can be vaccinated against meningitis. However, there is no vaccination for meningitis B, as the bacteria lives outside the body for a few seconds, thus making it difficult to be caught. So, don’t take any risk and immediately consult the doctor and give the child the antibiotics prescribed by the doctor.
Thus, to ensure safe and sound heath of your child, it is very important to take the consultation of the doctor immediately, when you notice that your child is sounding unusual and is not feeling comfortable.
