I know that most of you have heard of love poems but have you heard of sad love poems? Sad love poems are love poems based on tragedy. Most people often use sad love poems as a way to express their deepest sorrow and desires from the soul. For centuries, poetry has been used to express one’s thoughts and desires and sad love poems were not left out.
One could classify one of William Shakespeare’s plays, “Romeo and Juliet,” as a sad love poem (more like a tale of intrigue and tragedy between two families but in a romantic sense, it is poetic.) One of the most famous love poems of all time came from Shakespeare, which is “Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer’s Day.”
You do not have to be a famous writer to write love poems or any poems in general, since true and authentic poetry comes from the heart and soul. You can write a sad love poem about your wife or lover or someone you loved. Actually, in a strange way, you can use sad love poems to romanticize the love you have for your spouse or lover
Sad love poems can be about lost love whether it is the traumatic and sad break up of a long and loving relationship or the loss of a loving partner. Sad love poems can be about those who have been badly hurt by love and are afraid to fall in love again.
