Romantic Stories – Romance in a Book

Either on those hot, steamy summer nights or those long, cold winter nights, most people like to turn to a good romance novel for relaxation. Romantic stories indulges the fantasies and desires of its readers who would like to make love to their lovers on a beach on a faraway exotic island in the Caribbean or the South Pacific or in a log cabin up in the mountains during the winter by the fire of the chimney.
Whatever your fantasy, romance stories caters to all desires, since the stories are primarily based on fantasy with a few truth-based stories of romance. Black romance or harlequin novels are popular among most African-Americans.
Harlequin novels began shortly after World War II when black characters in a romance novel made their appearance. Even though the characters in those stories were mainly black, the novels were written to cater to a white audience and it wasn’t until the 1960’s when black authors began to write harlequin novels that truly catered to the black audience.
Jane Eyre is one of the most popular romantic novels ever written. The story is about a plain-looking abused girl that later in life she falls in love with a guy named Rochester, but cannot marry him because he is already married to a crazed woman, who Rochester keeps locked in the attic of his estate. Jane leaves him after he suggests that she could live in France but could not get married. She later meets a clergyman named St. John Rivers, who asks Jane to go to India with him on missionary work but Jane refuses and St. John goes alone to India where he later dies.
Jane later hears about Rochester and goes to see him, which at that point he lost one hand and sigh in both of his eyes due to a fire at his estate, which was started by his wife, who committed suicide during the fire. She later marries him and they have a child together.
Romantic stories are good to read when you are bored or just looking for a little excitement in a book. I personally love romance novels and not because I am lonely or bored but reading romantic stories allows me to unwind and that would be for any good story. So, if you ever in need of a good book to kick back with, try a romance novel.
