Risks of Low Lying Placenta

If the placenta does not rise with growing baby and into the third trimester, then depending on each case the course of next 2-3 months is charted. If placenta covers the cervix partially or entirely, the normal delivery is not possible.

Only with a clear cervix opening a normal meaning vaginal delivery is contemplated. In this condition, the chances of a premature delivery is also high, therefore doctor would normally put a woman in this condition on medicines, these usually are for expeditious growth of the baby  so that even in an eventuality of an early delivery, baby is substantially developed with well functioning organs.

Many women are put to bed rest in these last weeks to reduce the chances of an early labour. The reason behind high incidence of premature delivery is the thinning of uterine lining which automatically thins and gets stretched under the weight and increasing mass of the growing baby.

The right diagnosis and correct course of treatment long with enough care being taken by the mother can ensure a healthy and joyous pregnancy even with placenta praevia .
