Quick Easy Ironing Tips For A Wrinkle Free Wardrobe

Not many people like ironing or know how to iron their clothes properly, which means most of the time they are walking around in wrinkled clothes that could do with some proper ironing. They could do with some ironing tips so that the clothes hanging in their wardrobe are wrinkle free.
Some Important Ironing Tips:
If, you have a steam iron, always use rainwater or distilled water to give your clothes a nicer feel.
Hang shirts, pants, skirts on a hanger immediately after ironing them to prevent the wrinkles from reappearing. Be sure to button top and centre buttons of shirts and blouses.
Cut your ironing time in half by covering the ironing board with aluminium foil. This helps to reflect the heat produced by the iron by heating the garment fibres on both sides.
For garments that are extra thick, it is a good idea to iron the inside of the garment and then iron the outside.
Steam corduroy garments before ironing to smooth out the wrinkles.
Maintain your iron as per the directions in the manual. It will prevent any damage to garments.
Read all instruction labels on clothing before you iron them. These are not to be ignored as you may end up damaging or burning clothes that need to be ironed on cool settings.
Prevent collars, cuffs, and hems from puckering by ironing them on the opposite side first.
Hold the iron just above the badly wrinkled clothes and steam the fabric thoroughly, smoothing the damp cloth with your palm.
Use a homemade quick spray starch (made out of 1 tablespoon cornstarch to 2-cups of water) for effective ironing.
Keep your chintz looking shiny by ironing it right side down on waxed paper.
For ironing ties, first insert a piece of cardboard cut to fit it, cover with cheesecloth and press down lightly with a steam iron.
Prevent embroidery or eyelets from getting flattened by ironing them facedown on a thick towel.
Miscellaneous Ironing Tips
Other tips include covering your ironing with its cover while it is still damp. Letting it dry on the board makes for a perfect fit. Clean your steam iron according to instruction to ensure that the steam vents do not get clogged. Clean all burnt or sticky spots on the iron with a cloth dipped in baking soda or vinegar.
