Prints Are Back

Floral and animal prints are the favourites. They have been sported by celebrities and socialites alike to many high social dos. Though the flowers are usually restricted in size as per an individual’s liking, this year’s reemergence ranges just about anything floral. To add some classiness, animal prints are being marketed as the “Afrika Collection”.
Dresses in floral prints are in vogue, the prints come as either miniscule flower buds or large art deco flowers covering the entire dress. Summery colours like beige, light shades of pink, yellow and blue are the favourites though some prefer darker and bolder shades of earthy brown, violet and golden. You can pair up your dress with a plain scarf and wedge heels. Dresses with floral prints give you a feminine feel and you don’t look overdressed either! A lot though depends upon the kind of make up and accessories you do with the dress.
Floral prints are not only limited to dresses though, you can have lingerie, swimwear, sleepwear and hosiery and shirts with floral prints. The prints also add up to one’s personality and bring forth a person who is lively and fun to be with. Reputed names in the fashion industry did their bit in showing off classy print work on the ramp recently. Ralph Lauren in his latest collection, paired floral prints with his classic designs on silk georgette tea dresses with pastel palettes and delicate floor-length gowns. Dolce and Gabbana, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, and Dries Van Norten also sent floral down their runways. Some others also paired floral trends with their collection of micro-minis and pan-collared blouses. What’s chic about floral prints is that it’s not age –defined and has a universal appeal for all age groups.
Similarly, if you want to look bold and stand out in the crowd, you can go for animal prints with an undefeated charm of their own. Bold leopard prints are the best way to make a self statement of your personality. So go girl and get your wardrobe update!
