You baby is quite developed and plumped up now. The baby may weigh around 6 to 7 pounds and over 19 to 20 inches long. In this week of pregnancy, the baby would have developed matured organs as well. The baby will also have the firm grasp you can feel after the delivery within few weeks.

You can feel the movements of the baby inside you in this week. The pigmentation for the baby’s eye develops and will be their eye colour after the delivery. If the baby is born with brown eyes, then they will remain brown eyes in their life. If the baby is born with dark blue eyes or grey, then the eye colour may change to green, hazel or brown colour. But the eye colour may also stay with grey or dark blue colour. Gray or blue eyes have lesser pigments than the green or brown eyes.

The next couple of weeks are the waiting time for many women in this period of pregnancy. This time can be well utilized to get prepared for the delivery and the later requirements for you and the baby. Your body will need to be relaxed and get prepared for a safe delivery. So you will need to take regular naps in a day and have some fun time with reading or spending joyful moments with your partner. Anxiety and stress may develop due to the discomfort in body, but you will need to stay relaxed to reduce the negative effects.

If you notice excessive swelling in the ankles, you will need to consult your doctor immediately. Some swelling in your feet and the ankles is common and normal in the last weeks of pregnancy. Swelling in face and sudden increase in weight are also usual at this time. Any other problems like headaches, abdominal pain or vomiting should be reported to the doctor without fail in this period of pregnancy.
