Even if you are not a glamour girl, shaping and grooming your eyebrows will enhance your appearance. Five simple steps and you can have a perfect eyebrow shape. Select a shape that highlights and sets off your facial features. The correct shape will not only make you look younger, but will also lift the eye making it appear firmer.
To begin your eyebrow makeover, begin by tweezing your eyebrows. Begin by combing the eyebrows up; now tweeze any hair growing outside the natural hairline. Brush eyebrows down, take a pencil and place it vertically against your nose to check where your eyebrow should begin. Tweeze out any hair visible beyond the pencil mark.
Next, place the pencil diagonally so that it touches the middle of the mouth, nostril, outside the iris of the eye. This is where the arch should be. Tweeze a gradual line from arch to the where the eyebrow begins.
For determining where the eyebrow should end, place pencil diagonally across the opposite corners of the mouth, nostril, and outer corner of the eye. Tweeze any hair that grows beyond this line.
To check if the shape of your eyebrow is perfectly balanced, place a pencil horizontally from the start of the eyebrow to the end of the eyebrow. It should create a perfectly straight line.
With eyebrows perfectly shaped and plucked, eyebrow grooming is the next step to looking great. When picking a suitable eyebrow shape, you must remember that arched eyebrows define and accentuate facial features. Rounded eyebrows impart a softer more innocent look. Curved eyebrows are the latest rage, spotted on anyone from Oprah Winfrey to Jennifer Anniston amongst others. Thin eyebrows are gaining popularity amongst some ramp models, while flat ones can be resorted to when no other shape is possible. Eyebrow thickness is a matter of personal choice so go by what suits you not with what is the latest look.
For perfectly groomed eyebrows, fill and colour them with a brown or black eyebrow pencil or powder for added definition. You can even use a slick of Vaseline of hair spray to keep eyebrows in place and prevent them from looking untidy.
