Risk of osteoarthritis
A person who undergoes repeated knee injuries is at the higher risk of developing osteoarthritis when they get older; similarly the fractures and infections able to damage the internal tissue of a joint are also at the higher risk of osteoarthritis development.  Stresses and strains can also be one of the reasons for osteoarthritis development; and people with stress environment are also considered to be at the higher chance of osteoarthritis disease when they reach the old age.

In contrast to the people from sports, inactivity can be proven as harmful as the over indulgence in activities.  Absence of exercise or lacks of enough movements are the factors which can weaken the muscles that support the joints, and ultimately cause osteoarthritis.  Inheritance is also considered to be a cause in some cases in which it has been found that genes inherits the quality and thus grow the disease.

Symptoms of osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis mainly forms at the joints that have to bear weight to some degree; for e.g., the joint of hands, knees, spine, and hips.  This ailment is mainly characterized by the stiffness that restricts the human movements with difficulty or inability to bend, climb, etc.  Severe pain is also felt because of the rubbing of overgrowth of bone or minor stress fracture.  The main areas of pain include thighs, buttocks, knees, or groin; though, other regions of neck, spine, arms, or legs can also be painful.  Moreover, stiffness, swelling, and bone enlargement have been found in osteoarthritis in some cases.  A person having the above-mentioned symptoms must consult a doctor without a miss because the early identification about osteoarthritis can be the most helpful thing in your life.
