The cyber world has changed technology dramatically and as a result, the whole world has come closer together. This fast growing technology has made life easier to a very large extent. For example, booking tickets and buying almost everything is done with a single click.
Apart from this, relationships too have undergone a change because of the computer world. Romance has become easily accessible. There are separate and special websites, chat rooms and blogs for this purpose. Even if one is not surfing the net for the purpose of romance, it seems that one ultimately enters the world of love.
For example, as a member of any website where you are sharing your views and ideas on other topics, you tend to meet likeminded people who admire you. The gateways of romance may open and you end up sharing a romantic relationship with that person.
Sometimes, the online relationship can be false, as it can be based on lies. Don’t forget that you are building a relationship with a person you have never seen. So whatever he types about his personal details cannot be confirmed. There have been cases when people lie about their physical appearance, family, their feelings, thoughts and even sex to attract your attention.
These things are done just for fun and cannot result in a serious relationship. So while building up cyber relationships, one should keep these factors in mind. An affair which is just online cannot be long term or a true affair. For a permanent and true relationship one should go offline, to make sure that you are dealing with the right kind of person. If it is not possible to shift the relationship to the real offline world, then it is not based on reality.
The fact that many people indulge in cyber relations is because of the element of mystery, of what is not known about the person you are chatting and building up a relationship with. This mystery gives rise to excitement and is misinterpreted as love. The mystery of the unknown cannot be considered love because the emotion of love arises from what you know about a person, which becomes what attracts you to them.
All these reasons do not mean that these relationships are bad. If they give you pleasure and you are not hurting anybody’s feelings or harming them in any way, then you can continue to enjoy them. Just make sure that you do not make any one feel bad in the process.
