Natural Remedies for Eczema
October 31, 2009
A perfect solution for eczema remains an unfulfilled dream for the scientists and medical experts to date. Although there are some antibiotics and steroid treatments available in the market that claim to cure this annoying skin inflammation, the fact is that they are only working on the symptoms, not curing the real disease.
They only hide the infection and prevent from appearing outside. We consult dermatologists and have variety of medicines. Our body is rapidly accustomed to these medicines, if we have them on a regular basis and finally all the medicines fail, while the disease has the final laugh.
The result is that we get some serious side effects, sometimes even asthma. We go on scratching and the skin gets inflamed extensively.
Is there not a single formula?
The problem is not with medicine, but with the disease itself. In fact, eczema is not a specific disease, but it is a general term for different types of skin inflammations.
There are several kinds of eczema such as atopic eczema, varicose eczema and contact eczema. Because of the varieties of reasons and symptoms, a single formula for the treatment of this infection is yet not available.
Nature has the answer
However, natural ways of treatment have the answer. Several natural methods have proved successful and what is special is that, unlike the antibiotics or the other medications available, they cure the disease itself and not the symptoms.
The basic fact is that a dry skin is always shelter for eczema and moisturizing the skin can be a better defense against it.
Water treatment
One of the important treatments is water treatment. It may be unbelievable, but it is just water, applied to the affected area. It will relieve the itch and thus reduce the irritation to scratch the skin always.
Twice a day application is the better prescription for the treatment, because applying too much water will turn the result vice versa.
Coconut oil treatment
Coconut oil treatment is another one. Apply coconut oil to the eczema-affected area, to moisturize the skin and make it soft. A regular treatment with this oil will ensure a considerable change in the condition.
Milk treatment
A single glass of milk can also be an effective treatment for eczema. You can apply a little iced milk to the area, using a small cotton pad and holding it for two or three minutes. Repeating the process some more times gives better results.
Do not opt for artificial temporary medications that make you a medicine addict. Contrary, get rid of your infection through natural treatments from now on.
