MOTHER’S DAY
October 4, 2008
Mother- a Boon in our lives:
Mother is the very first word that any child learns when it starts to speak. Mother indeed is an angel who strives day in and day out so that her kids get the best in their lives.
Honouring Mothers:
For honouring mothers and make them feel and recognise their importance, Mother’s Day is celebrated. Honouring mothers on one day is definitely not the right way. They must be honoured life long since for them the priority is always their family and their kids. It was first and foremost an act that was started by the ancient Greece who celebrated this day to honour mothers.
Celebrations:
Throughout the world, it’s not a single day or a particular day that is celebrated as Mother’s Day, since the concept of Mother’s Day has been differently originated in different countries. Generally the 2nd Sunday of May is celebrated as Mother’s Day in India, including many other countries and all the respect and gratitude towards mothers are expressed on that day.
What is she?
A mother always bends her back, with a tight schedule, where she works all day long without complaining about anything. She does not see day or night but she thinks that her only job is to make her kids future bright.
A mother is always the best and is different from others. For her, time is no bound and only love and care is her playground, where she proves herself to be a great support to us. There might be a day when the sun may forget to rise; all the rivers and lakes in the world may go without water, even then a mother’s love for her child will never fade.
Significance of gifts:
The best gift that can be given to any mother on that day is to show her your love, care and affection towards her whole heartedly. There are certain flowers associated with Mother’s Day. They are the Carnations. Carnations are given as a token of love and respect to mothers on this particular day. It is simply because carnations are believed to show respect, love and purity of the relationship.
Remember, it is because of the mother that we all exist in this world and we owe her the gratitude and respect lifelong. Though Mother’s Day is celebrated on 2nd Sunday of May, one must not forget that honouring mothers only on that day is not at all sufficient for what she does for us. It is therefore the duty of all children to make mothers feel special throughout their life in whatever small ways they can.
Mother: Truly a God’s Gift. Care for her lifelong.
