Microwave Cooking Tips

For a highly nutritious and quick meal, microwave is the answer. If you are extremely hungry and want to grab a bite in minutes, then a microwave can solve your problem.

A kitchen in this day is empty without a microwave. It is one of the greatest kitchen tools in the modern day kitchen. Microwave can cook up the most delicious, simple and everyday recipes in a short span of time.

The biggest advantage of the microwave cooked food is that, almost no oil and water is needed to cook the dish. Hence, it provides you with a rich and healthy dish. It steams up the food and thus traps the nutrients while providing you the food, tastier, nutritious, and low fat than before.

Here are some useful tips to make your microwave cooking more exciting and satisfactory.

When shielding the food to avoid overcooking by using an aluminum foil paper, keep in mind that arching of the foil should not take place.

Use round dishes over any other shape to ensure a uniform heating and so better cooking of food.

Salt, in the microwave cooked food, should always be used after the cooking. This is because, the salt releases the trapped water of the dish and thus hinders the microwave cooking of your vegetables, meat or fruits.

If the option of automatic rotation is not present in you microwave, than make sure to rotate and stir the larger amount of food like chicken, beef steaks, turkey, whole vegetables etc, to ensure an evenly cooked dish.

Arrange the food items in an appropriate manner for uniform cooking in the microwave. Don’t pile up the food if you are using several pieces together. Arrange them in a manner that leaves an inch of space in-between, so that an even cooking can be ensured.

Ensure that the food is properly covered while cooking in the microwave. Leave some space in the lid so that steam can pass through. You can use a holed lid for the purpose.

Set the timer in the microwave according to the type of food. For example fish and other seafood take very less time for cooking.
