Men Do Cry
May 30, 2008
Boys don’t cry is a fallacy if ever there was one and its wrong to make little boys think that crying makes them less of a man! What is so wrong about relieving your hurt and pain by shedding some tears. Far better to cry than hold it all in and then go berserk with a gun or a knife. May be if men were allowed to cry openly, the crime graph would not soar as it does now. Pent up anger and hurt could be relieved by releasing a few tears in pursuit of mental and emotional health.
While, most men will not admit it, many say they have cried, if not in public which would expose the deepest cut, at least in private. The British maxim of keeping a stiff upper lip may work for some, but what is so wrong about being emotional. There are many men who have been awed by the miracle of childbirth and cried when their first child was born and placed in their arms. Others have admitted to crying when Ole yeller died and when John Lennon was killed. The very idea that the Beatles would never play together again was enough to have some die-hard male Beatle fans shed some sad tears.
There are men who have cried when the judge declared they were now divorced, even as their wife walked away with everything they loved, including a brand new lover in tow. Isn’t it a better way of dealing with emotions and anger rather than chasing your ex-wife and brawling with the new man in her life.
There is more evidence to prove that men are as likely to cry as women when it is regarding something that matters to them greatly. For example, let’s talk about football, something most men care about deeply. So, when their team loses, what do they do? Absolutely crushed, you can see the tears of disappointment course down their cheeks. I don’t understand why men have been told that emoting is a woman’s thing, the sight of grown men expressing such raw emotion can be quite endearing.
Go on, keep it up lads! Don’t hold back the tears when you’d rather let them down. Shedding tears when deeply touched won’t make you less of a macho man. In fact, woman will find you more attractive for being brave enough to fly in the face of odds. I mean, how many men feel they can cry without impunity. Even when they cry, they do so in private not public! And, it is a rare man indeed, who doesn’t care if the world sees the tears coursing down his cheeks!
So, while men do cry in private, high time they are able to do it in public without any discriminations or recriminations!

me i cried a lot because of LOVE.
