Types of supplies
There were only three kinds of supplies that massage therapist used during massage session in the past. These are oil, lotion and powder. But from the time it was realised that massage has very powerful relaxing power, several types of supplies have been introduced into the market. There are different kinds of oil being patronised by both massage therapist and their clients nowadays.
Oils
Oils help the therapist perform their tasks. In addition, they have a certain healing nature in them. Naturally, oil is warm and during the massage session, as the hands strike and glide, the warmth in the oil penetrates the skin. The stress and tension in the body gets away as a result. Different scents of oil such as jasmine, lavender, rosehip, green tea and other therapeutic oil types are used to make the client feel better and more relaxed. It is not only the therapeutic healing power that matter, but also the aroma that all tired and stressed clients will love.
Other supplies
There are other very vital massage supplies on the market today. Without these it will be very difficult to perform massage today. Some of these are towels, table sheets and draperies. Because the patients will be lying on them all the time during massage, it is necessary to have a good table sheet. Table sheets made of cotton are mostly preferred because they feel comfortable on the skin.
Towels and draperies are very important because some customers do not feel comfortable lying naked before the therapist. There are certain parts of the body that clients want to be covered during massage sessions and towels and draperies come into play here.
These supplies must be clean before they are used. They are very expensive so most clinics and spas just have them washed after every use. The best massages come from the use of good supplies.
