Manage Your Hair with a Curling Iron

Using a curling iron opens up the door to a variety of fun, sexy hairstyles that are easy to create at home.
Say your hair is hanging long and limp and you are looking for a sultrier look that doesn’t require much effort. Just pull out your curling iron and create some loose curls. A wavy hairstyle can work with any texture. You just need to buy the correct type of curling iron.
Loose waves can be achieved with a curling iron that measures an inch. Tight curls are produced by small curling irons while loose waves are created by larger curling irons.
Curling irons can also be used to make spiral waves in your hair. Spiral curls work best with hair that is at least shoulder length. Spiral curls can be created with wavy, curly and even straight hair.
If you are starting off with curly hair begin by combing out your hair with a wide tooth comb while your hair is wet before you begin to curl the hair. This will detangle the curls.
Add gel to the roots of the hair so that the look will be smooth on top. Blow dry the hair first. Once the hair is dry, select a few strands of hair about two inches thick. Wrap the hair in a spiral around the barrel of the curling iron.
If your hair is naturally straight and you want to make it curly start off by wrapping the hair around some hot rollers. Try to avoid using hair conditioner as this can make the hair too soft.
If you need to use a detangling spray after washing your hair then do so. If your hair has been chemically processed you may want to stay away from curling irons as they can cause damage to the chemically treated hair.
Any hairstyle needs to start off with a clean plate. That means washing it with at least shampoo. When using a curling iron, the hair should be slightly wet but not dripping wet. The bigger the curl that you are looking to achieve, the bigger the barrel on the curling iron. The smaller the curl, the smaller the barrel.
