Makeup to Take On the Dance Floor
July 10, 2009
If you’re a party animal, you’re surely burning up the dance floor this party season. All this can be ruined if your makeup begins to run down your face, making you look like a wet and sweaty clown instead of a sexy dancing queen; that simply won’t do, why should we tame our inner beasts.
Upon consulting with our experts, they agreed to give us a few tips to keep your makeup in place while showing off your dance floor skills or winning that booty shaking contest.
If you can manage with just a little concealer and skip the foundation altogether, that’s a great step to avoid runny makeup. Of course, it depends on the state of your skin, and how much concealer you need to cover up.
Those with blemishes or freckles usually need a thicker base or foundation, to get a smooth appearance. In that case, there is a great variety of products on the market to get you that perfect look. A homemade remedy to skip foundation is to rub an ice cube or wash your face with cold water before applying base.
This will close pores, and help you diminish sweat. Avoid smudges with just cold water! Depending on the type of foundation you are using, oil free, with oil or water based, the effectiveness of this remedy may vary. You can also rub ice on after applying your foundation, do it carefully so you don’t ruin the smooth finish.
After you apply your makeup, a makeup fixing spray is one of the best ways to get a lasting sweat proof look. Mac or Kryolan makeup fixing sprays work like a charm. Hold it at arm’s length and spray on your face to make sure your makeup behaves throughout the night.
Quick damage control during a wild night: make sure to always carry your compact, moist tweets, and tissue. Take a break from your dancing and gently dab your face with this to dry up excess oil, dampness and sweat, as well as other agents like smoke or transfer glitter that doesn’t match you look.
When you party, and if you use quality products, your eye makeup should be fine; it’s the cheeks, lips, and foundation that get all runny. Our experts’ advice is to have a kajal, lip-gloss, compact, and blush handy at all times, so you’re able to touch up your makeup at any time.
If your plan is to party all night, carry your makeup towelettes and redo your makeup so you look fresh throughout the evening. It’ll only take a few minutes, and since you’re the heart of the party, you won’t miss anything.
Leave eye makeup intact and retouch your foundation and blush. Apply lipstick, gloss, and a touch of perfume: you’ll be ready to burn up the dance floor once again!
