Makeup for dark skin

One should not begin an essay on outer beauty and enhancement, without first mentioning that the most important aspect of beauty is the goodness within. No amount of makeup will improve a constantly frowning or sneering face. In fact, frowning, sneering, and other negative facial expressions will eventually marr your skin with wrinkles as evidence. Any black object is a good absorber of light and radiation and hence the good reflector also.
Since your skin is dark it will also behave in the similar manner, that’s why dark skin seems oily, even though it may not. Because of your skin color, you will need to avoid creamy foundations and choose from liquid foundations or water based foundation. Choose lipsticks with matte finish rather than frosted ones. The shades should not be too dark or too light. Medium dull shades would look best. Bright pinks or reds are an absolutely NO! If you have dark lips, before applying lipstick, put some foundation and powder on your lips.
Avoid applying too much powder. Dust off the excess powder. You have cool skin tones, with a pink or blue undertone, and make-up that echoes these tones will make you look healthy and alive. Avoid honey-based cosmetics that could make you look yellow and extremely unwell! For blushing use colors like coral, rose and deep orange. Avoid brown and peachy shades. For very dark skin shades of bronze, plum and wine are suggested. Blend the blusher over the cheekbones as it brightens the skin color. Use a light powder after the foundation. This gives the skin a shine and is not too heavy.
