Makeup and Your New Hair Color

Changing your hair color can lead to your usual makeup scheme to appear awkward and different on your face. This happens because a different color shadow is reflected on the face by the new hair color.
Hair colors are reflected by sunlight. Different hair colors absorb and reflect different amounts of light. A red color makes your skin look reddish.
When you change your hair color it also becomes necessary to change your makeup palette. Different hair colors change your overall complexion.
Colors and Changes
A fiery red hair color reflects a reddish tone on the face. This creates a warm complexion, so your makeup should also be warm. Choose colors that are greenish, reddish or dark brown. Add pink or peach colors to the lips and shades of apricot or brown blush to your cheeks.
If you have chosen to go blonde, softer colors such as pale pink are suitable to your complexion. Avoid using dark lipstick shades, lip glosses and blushes.
Dark colors such as red, dark brown and hot pink will make you look horrible. Use pale pink and ash colors for eye shadows. Light pink and peach colored blushes for the cheeks and brown colored eye liner and mascara also work well on the face.

You can preview the changes different hair colors will have upon your overall complexion by getting someone to take a picture of you with your natural hair color first.
Take the picture while not wearing makeup. After you have your new hair color, get another picture taken and compare it with the previous photo. You will definitely notice how the natural color of your skin is affected by the color of the hair.
Take a close look at yourself and study the color of your hair. Use colors such as brown and amber to compliment the red in your hair. If you have cut down on the red in your hair by getting an ash or medium brown hair color, consider adding more color to you makeup.
