Make-up To Wear On A Date
July 4, 2008
You’ve got a hot date and don’t know what make-up style to go with? Even if it’s a blind date or a special night out, every girl wants to look her best. Keeping that in mind here are some beauty tips for a date that will ensure you look absolutely amazing. Among the many beauty tips that friends and co-workers may have offered you, the one tip that you should keep in mind is that while we girls like to make-up, most men would prefer you to keep it fresh and natural! So, bearing that in mind, before you slap on the make-up, think again and decide to go with a make-up style that is minimal!
Begin your preparations for your special date with an invigorating shower. While, still damp from it, apply moisturiser all over so that your skin feels soft and as smooth as silk. This is also a good time to apply the fragrance you intend to wear, so dab your chosen perfume at important pulse points i.e. behind the knees, in the crook of your elbow, on the wrists, on the ankles, at the hollow of your throat and finally behind the ears.
Next, prepare the face as you would a canvas before beginning a painting. Cleanse, tone and moisturise. Apply concealer to hide under-eye circles and other blemishes followed by foundation. You can skip foundation if you have good skin and go for a tinted moisturiser, instead. If, you feel naked without foundation as most of us do, then use liquid foundation, spreading it on evenly.
EYES
Beginning with the eyes, before putting on eye shadow, apply an eye base to hold shadow in place, prevent creasing and keep it from sliding off. Next take your eye shadow quad and apply a neutral shade to the whole lid. Then, apply a different shade of colour to the bottom half of the eyelid and a darker shade in the crease of the eye. While, applying colour make sure you do so with swift, deft strokes that give a hint of colour. Now, apply a highlighter to the inside corner of the eye and also on the area between the eyelid and the eyebrow. This helps to open up the eye. For eyeliner, you can either use a Kohl pencil or a darker shade of shadow which will give a softer, smokier look to the eye than a pencil. Blend well and apply a couple of coats of mascara.
FACE
Set foundation with a light dusting of translucent powder to minimize the shine and give your make-up staying power. Using a large brush, apply bronzer lightly wherever the sun naturally lights your face. Apply a soft, natural blush on top of your cheekbones and top it off with a bit of shimmer, blending well.
LIPS
Apply lip liner and feather across the lips to make your gloss last longer. Finally, finish with a slick off gloss!
One of the beauty tips before a date is to blend, blend and blend, which is the key to avoid looking like a painted doll, instead of fresh and natural! Enjoy your date!
