Look Hot In Bright Colors

September 1, 2008

The time has come when even fashion designers are tired of the standard colour palette of classic black, grey and brown. However, not every one can wear every shade of the bright colours that are so very in now. We have neon shades, eye-popping patterns and bold hues saturating the market, but how does one incorporate this bright colour trend effortlessly in summer wear? For those who want to look beautiful not tacky, here are some easy ways to wear colours that carry a punch, without looking cheap.

Dress Up, Dress Down
A pink or orange sleeveless dress will not only add colour to your wardrobe but to your skin, as well.  Pick a hot coloured dress in a shape that flatters your figure. Wear heels for an evening out or pair with flat gladiator style sandals for day. For a casual affair, and if you are too conscious about showing so much of bare skin, cover up with a cropped jacket or a cardigan.

Colour Wedge
Give any simple outfit a colour boost by slipping on a pair of wedge sandals in any of the season’s favourite colours, the perfect way to add a splash of colour to an otherwise plain outfit.

Beach Babe
Forget teeny tiny bikinis, slip into a one piece bathing suit in hot pink, warm orange, bold blue or red to kill.

Glam Max
A flirty and feminine dress in bold yellow or multi-colour floral print is ultra-elegant; but the right pair of flat sandals can transform it into a fun choice for the day. Its bright colours will make any woman who wants to stand out, stand out!

A Cuff Is Enough

Add colour to a classic outfit in a neutral shade by slipping on a ‘70s-style bracelet in a mix of vibrant colours. The ultimate in Bohemian chic, ethnic, Indian-inspired bracelet patterns can be worn alone or in pairs, if you want to make a statement. They also make the best accessories for white summer dresses.

So Very Jackie O
Protect your eyes from the harsh UV rays of the sun, even as you make a fashion statement with snazzy sunglasses in sweet candy colours, from flavourful hues like cherry and mango, and interesting shapes. For the round faced, there are the oval shapes or angled edges; there are round frames for those with a heart or square shape.

Uncork Your Style
Raise your colour quotient with daring heels i.e. cork platforms with patent uppers in a variety of yummy colours, like red, pink, yellow and green. Sexy, fun and daring, pair them with some stylish summer shorts or minis for a head-turning look.

California Dreaming
You don’t have to be in Los Angeles to wear pop-art nail shades in fun colours like hot pink, purple, yellow and tangerine.

Hot Handbags
Accessorise your neutral outfits with clutch handbags in lemon or red or pink to catch attention.  Colour match with sandals and other accessories.

Top Hat
For bad summer hair days, cover your head with brightly coloured caps or hats that look great for casual afternoons or with white button-down shirts and jeans. To surprise, wear a brightly coloured cap or hat with a cocktail dress and heels for a night out on the town.
