Keeping Kids Fit

Obesity is common among kids of current days and they are not as active as they have to be. With the attractive entertainment options like cartoons in televisions, it is difficult to keep the kids move around keep them active for the whole day. Here are some tips to keep the children active through out the day and make them healthy and fit.

Give time for free games. You can allow the kids to get in a group with friends or relatives and make joyful games together. Making dolls or status with snow or riding bikes together in the neighbourhood are good physical exercises for the kids.

Encourage the kids to get in group activities rather than exercises. Children normally get bored with any formal exercises. Rather they enjoy when doing activities along with the fellow kids. You can encourage your kids to start any group activity like bike riding, swimming etc… In indoor, you can tell the kids to arrange the things in their room, plan small games in the garden etc…

Schedule physical activities for kids regularly: Kids of current age are occupied with multiple co-curricular activities like drawing, singing etc… We can schedule for some fun based activities like games, dancing etc… also which can give physical movements for the kids and can help them in getting healthier.

Diet is another important factor in keeping the kids healthier. Due to the other physical activities, the children’s diet need not be strictly as followed for adults. But still the habit of eating healthy foods can be developed in kids. Fat rich food items like chocolates, ice creams, cheese etc… can be taken occasionally by kids, but not regularly.

Make sure that the kids do not eat everything in one shot. Develop habits in children to eat healthy foods often in a day and break the meals throughout the day. Encourage to kids to eat more vegetables and fruits rather than the packed fat rich foods.

Fitness in the children depends on the encouragement provided by the family. So you will need to explain them the importance of the physical activities and the concept of healthy eating.
