Inside The Mind Of A Man
May 29, 2008
For many women, men can be quite confusing, so taking peek inside the mind of a man could prove quite helpful in understanding them. In some cases, they obey the law and follow the rules, whilst in others they have no qualms about breaking the law and going against the rules. You find them ready to lay down their lives for their country or their football club, but more often than not they do a good job of ignoring their families. They search for self-worth achieving long-term goals, however, are quite happy to forgo the self-worth they could gain with their empathetic behaviour. Men tend to be quite a puzzle for the tender sex, who struggle to cope with the men in their lives. They never seem to be able let go of the remote control, but always fail to notice the pile of dirty laundry lying in the corner. Well, if a new book is to be believed, it’s all in the way their brains are wired. After twenty years of neurological research, Michael Gurian has written: “What Could He Be Thinking?” to help women understand that nature has made men and women are wired differently.
CAT scans and MRIs show how hormones affect the brain before a foetus completes five months in the womb. One of the major differences is in the memory of each sex. Men tend to veer towards making lists, trivia, etc. however the female memory is more sensory emotion prone. So, while a women will remember colours and how the furniture in the room was arranged, a man will remember a list he compile of things to do.
Throughout life, men are constantly testing themselves, seeking status and worth in hierarchies and competition. Whereas, studies indicate women look for romantic relationships and marriage. Women are on the lookout for heroes, protectors to make them feel safe. However, nature plans otherwise and women’s heroic expectations seem to not only drive men, but can actually add to male fragility, especially in those men who lack physical or mental prowess.
On the trivial side, look inside a man’s mind and women will be shocked to find that when men call you, its just a phone call not a profession of love or a desire to make you their girl friend. They also hate make-up just as much as gossiping, get embarrassed by a sudden spate of giggles, believe PMS is no excuse to be mean. They also think tight clothes spell uncomfortable, cheap, sort of desperate and insecure. Most guys are looking for the right girl and would be quite happy if a girl had the courage to tell them that she liked them without waiting for them to make the first move.
So, it’s nothing new but men and women are as different as chalk is from cheese! Put it down to hormones and different wiring of the brain! Vive le difference!
