Indoor gardening is portable and has not much demand as compared to outdoor gardening. In indoor gardening you do not require to have lots of plants in your house. Indoor gardening’s basic requirements are similar to the outdoor gardening like fertile soil, nutrients, lighting and water.
Indoor gardening requires some special type of plants that want different amount of sunlight. However, mostly indoor plants would grow better in sunshine. Therefore, it is necessary to place them in daylight in regular interval of time. So, in order to provide sufficient sunlight to indoor plants you can place them near windows. Windows can supply enough amount of natural light to them easily. However, it is also necessary to purchase some special indoor plants that can grow in minimum light in dark winters. So, before choosing plants for your indoor gardening remember that plants with darker leaves do not require much light.
Indoor gardening requires less amount of water. However, many people kill indoor plants by overwatering. People think that just like outdoor plants they have to water their indoor plants regularly. It is good to practice but people generally forget that these plants are in containers and thus the procedure of watering is quite different. Also keep in mind that containers of indoor plants should have fine drainage system. For such purpose you can put a layer of pebbles at the bottom of each container and place any decorative dish or saucer under the container. This is required to collect drained water.
Some common plants that are preferred for indoor gardening are African violets, Philodendrons, Boston Ferns, Jade Plant etc. So, by keeping few things in mind you can also flourish your home with natural beauty, colors and boon. Indoor gardening makes you feel energized and happier.
