Hunger and Weight loss
Hunger has now become a negative thing that must be eliminated in the weight loss industry. This is due to the havoc that it can cause. It is viewed as the sole thing responsible for increasing body weight.
The determination to ‘eradicate’ hunger has led to the other side of things where people turn to look at diet as negative.
There is a more appropriate view of hunger. It is something interim. Hunger is very necessary for good weight management.
Types of hunger
There two different types of hunger. There is good hunger and bad hunger.
Good hunger
Real hunger is the hunger that we feel due to the fact that our energy sources have been depleted. This is the hunger that comes after long periods of work. This hunger is good because our bodies need it to survive.
Bad hunger
There is unreal hunger that comes due to boredom. This type of hunger comes despite the fact that we have eaten just few moments earlier. There is a variety of this type of hunger that is more dangerous.
This one comes at the end of the day partly due to the fact that we are hungry, and also because we are feeling the ravages of work. This type of hunger is dangerous as it can make you eat and eat till you are bulging with weight.
Before you eat
So before we eat, we must try o find out the real source of our hunger. We must look out for the underlying causes, that is whether we are hungry because we are bored or for some other reason deep down in us.
We must also be thinking about the real benefits of our eating. Will our eating bring us more harm than good?
There is the need for purposeful eating. If you are focused you will succeed in your quest for weight loss. There are people to help us in this: we have friends and families, and weight loss coaches to help us manage our hunger.
