How to Propose-Romantic Tips

There are very few questions that are as important or have as much of an impact as marriage proposals. Even men with nerves of steel are known to falter and get the jitters at the very thought of proposing to the woman they love. But, what’s there to worry about, the secret to proposing successfully is quite simple: You must know what will appeal to the girl you love and what will please her. Success depends on how well you know her. Getting down on one knee, asking her to spend the rest of her life with you and slipping an engagement ring on her finger is not all there is to making a brilliant marriage proposal.
This traditional way of proposing still works, but women these days want emotion, romanticism and originality, they want to be swept off their feet in a way that is the ideal mix of innovative and traditional. First of all, you must know the woman she is, whether she is a hopeless romantic, whether she is prone to making bold statements or is passionate about something particular in life. For such a woman, you would have to propose in an unusual or fairly extravagant manner. For someone who is fairly private, a one-on-one proposal will be in order, however, if she adores being in the spotlight, then propose to her in public to win her heart and her hand in marriage.
Decide where you want to propose marriage i.e. in a restaurant, an amusement park, on the beach, in art gallery or a movie theatre, whatever has meaning for both of you. You could propose to her in Madrid or a hot air balloon, or at a venue which holds wonderful memories for both you and your girl. Or, you could invite her to watch a favourite movie at your place, and give her a bowl of popcorn with a diamond engagement ring in it. Or fly her to Venice, hire a gondola and propose to her as the gondolier serenades you with a song. What could get more romantic than that?
Focus on this special moment; let her know how sincere is your love for her, that she means the world to you. Whatever you say and do let it come from your heart. Rehearse what you want to say beforehand, so that you can come up with something special that captures her interest. When proposing, always have a contingency plan for whatever may go wrong with your idea of a perfect marriage proposal setting.
Propose to her in Las Vegas or on Valentine’s Day and instead of offering a traditional Valentine card, flowers and chocolates, ask her to marry you. Do it the old fashioned way, get down on one knee with a rose clenched in your teeth and the ring in your hand. Have a waiter bring you her favourite dessert with the ring inside of it. Show up at her / his office in the middle of the afternoon armed with a red rose, a bottle of champagne and a glass with the ring in it. Take her/him away for the weekend and on your last day pop the question. Scatter rose petals all over her bed and put the gift wrapped ring in the centre. Tell her that you bought her a gift to show how much you love her. When she opens it tell her you want to spend the rest of your life with her. Cook her a romantic meal slipping the napkin through the ring for her to find when she picks the napkin to use. Bake him / her a cake and write Will you marry me on top of it? Pour her a glass of wine with the ring at the bottom, she’ll find it as she sips the wine. Pack a scrumptious picnic basket and pop the question while on a lovely picnic. Run her a bath with scented candles, rose petals and after she gets in the tub, float a rubber duck with the ring tied around its neck in front of her. Serve her oysters in bed with the ring inside the shell.
There are so many ways to propose to a girl, but the most romantic has to be proposing in French, the language of love, if you can master a few phrases to impress her!
