So you are getting married – congratulations! It is the day every girl dreams of, and now that it is happening there is a lot to do! You have probably already started to feel the flutter of excitement and the flurry of stress as you are planning and detailing all of the events of the day.
There is a lot of room to customize and personalize your wedding. One of the best ways is to have your own unique theme. Some brides choose to do everything themselves, from invitations to favors to thank you cards. If you are one of these brides, you will soon realize all the options available to you, and using your imagination – the possibilities are endless.
Depending on your theme for your wedding, you want your invitations to reflect the subtleties of the basic designs and decorations of your wedding. You do not want to go overboard on the invitations and you do not want to give away all the secrets of your wedding. Remember, your invitations are the first thing that people see related to your wedding. You want to save the best for last, and you don’t want to everything out there on the invitation that will leave nothing to the imagination of your guests.
For instance, if you are having a tropical theme for your wedding, your invitations could suggest it by a couple of bright colors, or a plain white invitation with a small tropical bird in the corner. Unless you are having a specific theme to your wedding that the guests need to know about to prepare, it is usually best to keep them simple and classy. If you are going to be making them all yourself, you need to give yourself time to prepare.
Always make sure that you do a few practice runs with the wedding invitations to ensure that you will have enough time to do them, and you need to assess how much time and how much material will go into them. You may find that you need to change your idea or alter the kind of materials you are using. The best advice is to start right away, and find which method is the most practical.
You also want to nail down the number of guests you are inviting as soon as possible. This can have an impact to the amount of supplies and papers you need to make your wedding invitations. Some materials require special ordering, so you want to get the numbers as soon as you can to allot for backorders or items being out of stock.
Have fun with your wedding invitations, let them and your wedding be a reflection of yourself and your love, and don’t rush through the process, take time to enjoy it and remember the reason why you are getting married.
