How to Lose Weight
March 31, 2009
For losing weight you are not required to stop eating. Remember, it’s just not possible for you to lose or gain weight overnight. There are no quick ways to lose weight.
You have to have a disciplined lifestyle, get self-motivated and exercise control over habits to continue to enjoy eating and yet lose weight. Once you get into that gear, you can always have control over your weight. Here’s how:
Step 1
Exercising your body is the first step in the direction of losing weight. Ideally you should exercise in the morning. Choose a few aerobic exercises as they are good for your heart and help you to maintain good metabolism for the rest of the day.
Let me share a secret with you. It has been observed it’s beneficial to keep changing the order, intensity and duration of exercise. In effect, it means that if you started with exercise “a” today, the next day start with exercise ’”b”. The intention is to break the monotony.
Step 2
Start your day with a healthy breakfast to keep you going for the day. Include vegetables, fruits and low fat food in your breakfast. Use your imagination for including vegetables along with eggs. Here again you should avoid being monotonous.
One day you may have eggs and vegetables, another day you may have cereal with milk and fruit. Keep away from foods with high carbs.
Step 3
You should eat every three or four hours to keep yourself satiated. Your last meal of the day should be at least three hours before you retire for the night. It helps to avoid acidity in your stomach as the food gets digested before your go to sleep.
Step 4
Make it a habit to include lots of vegetables along with the protein and carbs. Choose fiber rich food with carbs that’ll keep your hunger pangs away. For those in-between meals snacks, develop a taste for vegetarian salads or yogurt. It’s healthy to have about three servings of low fat dairy foods. Studies indicate those help to accelerate the process of weight loss.
Step 5
Try including proteins for dinner. Good sources of protein, like fish, chicken and turkey, should be accompanied with a variety of veggies.
Step 6
Keep yourself relaxed in the evening. Develop a hobby that will relax you and may burn a few calories in the process.
