How To Get A Stronger Punch

It is quite easy. Hit the bag, hit the bag, and hit the bag. Hitting the heavy bag is by far the most effective way to build murderous power. Not only does it help you build power through knowing your range (which is detrimental to landing with force), it greatly increases punching endurance as well. Often, it is the idea of losing a few inches or toning some flabby muscles that makes them run endlessly in the treadmill, labor with the leg press, or simply perform tricky crunches.

Apart from all those, another group of fitness freaks exists who are keener on increasing the strength of their body. Spend at least an hour a day (preferably in a row w/ few, if any breaks) beating the crap out of the heavy bag. One can also try Weight exercises: Bench press (motion of a punch). Triceps workouts (involved in punch). Core and Ab (very important! get a six pack that should help dramatically.) Leg workouts (as you drive with your legs on hard punches). Shoulder workouts (may also help slightly).

Another way on how to get a stronger punch includes Tae Kwan Do instructions that show you how to hold your fist properly in or order to not break your fist no matter how hard you hit. You should keep it wound tight and then keep your thumb outside the fist, not inside. Also, yell anytime you punch/kick. Just doing this increases your power by 200%. This is called ‘keying up’ and it’s where the power comes from.

In addition, make sure you are standing at a sideways position. You can be a hard hitter, but doing it properly by checking your body position will help a lot, too. And as always, practice makes perfect. Just make sure you’re practicing with the latter details in mind to just make sure you’re not ’spinning your tires’. Take a rope and suspend it from the ceiling. Now tie an eyehook at the end of the rope and attach it with a piece of paper so that the paper hangs at your eye level. Begin by throwing punches at the paper while avoiding contact.

Try variety of punching styles, all the while keeping contact to the minimum. Perform those exercises for 10 minutes everyday in order to increase your punching accuracy.
