How To Create Perfect Eyebrows
July 8, 2008
Not many realise it, but the shape of your eyebrows can subtly though dramatically alter one’s entire appearance. The impact eyebrows have is not to be underestimated, no matter what your colouring, whether it be light or dark. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you come to a decision regarding suitable eyebrow shapes according to your facial features, tips that will help create the ideal eyebrow shape!
Softly rounded, gentle arch and tapered at the end is the best and the most flattering eyebrow shape for a woman of any age. The length and thickness of the brow should depend on features, colouring and shape of the face.
Shaping Eyebrows
No matter what kind of eyebrows you have, whether rounded, straight or heavy, they all can be shaped into a perfect arch. Begin shaping your brows by taking a pencil and holding it vertically along the side of the nose. Your eyebrow should start just where the pencil hits the brow. Which means, all hair the other side of the pencil line, must needs be tweezed out?
Next, find your natural arch by holding the pencil at a right angle to your nostril. It should line up with the outer edge of your iris when looking straight ahead, which means hair should be tweezed out from below where it rests against the brow to create the arch.
Finally, hold the pencil in line with the outside corner of your eye, which is where your brow should end. You can make tweezing easier by using a white Kohl pencil to mark hairs to be tweezed out.
Finishing Touch
Now, use a brow comb and comb your eyebrow hairs upwards. Trim the overly long hair with a pair of manicure scissors. Brush them into a tidy line and fill in any sparse areas with brow colour that matches your eyebrow shade using an angled brush. For unruly eyebrows use a gel to keep the hair in place, even hairspray will do the trick though you will have to be careful to avoid getting any in the eye.
Quick Tips
Since, eyebrow shapes tend to change with the trends, it is best to keep them natural i.e. neither too thick or too thin.
If, you find it difficult to do your own eyebrows, you can get them professionally done at a beauty salon, where they will most probably use the popular method of threading.
While, one can use an eye-shadow to fill or darken sparse eyebrows, it is far better to go in for make-up products, specifically designed for the brow.
You can use either a clean toothbrush or a clean mascara wand to comb and tidy eyebrows. However, there are numerous cosmetic products and make-up brushes specially designed for the eyebrows. So, if you have the money, why not invest in a few speciality products for perfect brows and colour shade for your brows!
