How to avoid common fashion mistakes
July 22, 2008
These days everyone wants to have their very own fashion statement. Everyone wants to look stylish. While being fashionable or trying to make a fashion statement, people often make some common mistakes. If you are a bit careful then you can avoid those common fashion mistakes and become the style icon among friends.
First step to avoid a fashion fiasco is to choose the right size dress. If the dress is too big for you, in other words baggy, then you will look fat. On the other hand cloths that are smaller in size will draw attention to the bulges, thus the outfit will make you look unattractive. Besides if the outfit is too tight then that will not only expose your true shape, but also expose the lines of your under garment. So the first tip is to go for the right size.
Wrinkles can ruin a garment. Iron the dress before wearing it. Some people find ironing dresses too tiresome and time consuming. There is a solution for them as well. Buy cloths that can easily be taken care of and does not wrinkle easily.
Do not make yourself look like a member of the circus by wearing too many colors. Let your outfit be easy on the eye. Too many colors will not only make you look like a mess but at the same time give an impression that you are clueless about co-ordination. In case of color, wearing green and red together is a big no, as they clash. And after colors comes patterns. Do not try to combine too many patterns together. Remember, less is more.
Short skirts may be in right now, but do not wear a skirt that is simply too short and exposes your under garment. That does not mean that you should not wear short skirts. Wear the ones that make you look sexy and not the ones that will make you look cheap.
It is not only the dress but often the wrong accessory can also turn you from a fashion icon to a fashion clown. Do not carry a big bag with an eveningwear. In this case the ideal bag is something small and sleek. Try to wear the same color shoe and dress. If you do not have a matching shoe then you can always go for a black pair that goes with every color.
Last but not the least; you know what looks best on you. So do not pick up something from the store just because you think it looks nice. And do not stick to one style. Change your collection once in a while, keeping these points in mind.
